How to soften a computer keyboard that is hard and difficult to type

It’s a keyboard that’s sold at a relatively low price, but it’s a bit early to think of it as a consumable item. Since it’s a keyboard I’m used to, can I somehow improve the feeling of heavy and hard keys?
So, I will introduce it because it was effective when I tried it with no use. However, please do so at your own risk.
Types of keyboards that can be improved
There are two main types of keyboards.
The first is a general one, called “membrane type”, in which a hard key on the surface is stuck in a hole, and when you press it, you press the switch on the board in the back to recognize characters. Since it is inexpensive, it is widely used in desktop PCs, but frequently used keys are often worn out and hardened. There are various prices on the market, but I don’t think there is a big difference in the degree of key wear.
Some keyboards, which look like a membrane type at first glance, have an independent structure for each key called “mechanical type”. Please note that this is a completely different thing, and the method in this article does not improve the keystroke sound (it is also a mechanical feature that the keystroke sound is loud).
The other is called “pantograph type”, which is a mechanism in which something like a spring is sandwiched between the key on the surface and the switch on the board. This method is often used in laptop computers and thin keyboards, and is more expensive but more durable than the membrane type. Many of them have a slightly louder keystroke sound than the membrane type.
Keyboards that can be improved and how to improve
This method can improve the membrane keyboard. The pantograph type has a complicated mechanism, and it is difficult to restore it when it is disassembled, and almost no effect can be expected. Also, as mentioned above, the “mechanical type” has a different structure from the membrane type, so no effect can be expected.
If you use the keyboard for a long time, the more frequently you use the keys, the more they will wear out and become harder. At the same time, the clicking sound becomes louder.
To solve this, remove the key once and apply a thin layer of grease or other lubricant to the area where the key and keyboard can be polished (Is it better to say the hole and stick part …) with a cotton swab or the like. It will improve dramatically.
Especially, the numeric keypad “0 zero” used for office work will be comfortable.
However, some notebook PCs have a structure that prevents the keys from falling off easily, so once disassembled, it is difficult to assemble them, so please understand the structure well before doing so.
If it’s cheap, you can buy a keyboard for about 1000 yen, but please do maintenance for eco-friendliness and for long-term use of familiar equipment.
